چکیده
Fig. 1. Transverse midesophageal plane at 458, demonstrating the short axis of the aortic valve in diastole. The ruptured aneurysm of the right coronary sinus protrudes into the right atrium just above the tricuspid valve producing the characteristic ‘windsock’ appearance described in textbooks. Colour-flow Successful surgical repair of a ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm was performed in a 30-year-old man, presenting with acute onset dyspnoea. Transoesophageal echocardiography demonstrated the characteristic ‘windsock’ appearance of the aneurysm described in textbooks and the continuous flow between the aorta and the right atrium corresponding to a continuous murmur. During surgery an 8 mm opening was identified in the right coronary sinus leading into the right atrium, the aneurysm tissue in the right atrium was excised and the base oversewn, whilst a patch of pericardium was used to close the defect from the aortic end (Figs. 1 and 2). Doppler demonstrates continuous blood flow through the ruptured aneurysm between the aorta and the right atrium, corresponding to the continuous murmur. RA (right atrium), LA (left atrium), RV (right ventricle), TV (tricuspid valve), PV (pulmonary valve), PA (pulmonary artery), LCC (left coronary cusp), NCC (non-coronary cusp), RCC (right coronary cusp). Aneurysms of sinus of Valsalva are rare cardiac abnormalities. They are dilatations of the aortic sinuses and are classified as congenital or acquired. If located in the right coronary sinus they are usually ruptured into right heart chambers and frequently a ventricular septal defect coexists with this condition. This paper reports a 30-year-old woman with ruptured aneurysm of the right sinus ...

Sinus of valsalva aneurysm, is a rare congenital defect and the diagnosis is usually made after it ruptures. The anomaly often involves the right coronary sinus and is less frequent in the noncoronary sinus. The rupture of the left sinus of valsalva into the pulmonary artery is extremely rare. So far, few cases with ruptured left sinus of valsalva have been reported. We are reporting a ruptur...

BACKGROUND Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (SVA) is an uncommon cardiac defect accounting for only 1% of congenital cardiac anomalies and the most common complication is ruptured into the atrium or ventricle. Very late recurrence of ruptured SVA after patch repair is extremely rare. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case of 57-year-old man had received repair for ruptured Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm a...

متن کاملCASE REPORT Echocardiographic Diagnosis of Ruptured Aneurysm of Sinus of Valsalva Report of Two Cases
Echocardiographic features of two cases of ruptured congenital aneurysm of Valsalva sinus with (case I) and without (case 2) a supracristal ventricular septal defect were studied before and after surgery by standard echocardiography, M-mode scan and twodimensional echocardiography. Discontinuity was observed in the echo from the aneurysm wall of the Valsalva sinus in case I with ruptured aneury...
